Baseball Championship field is set – Tourney begins May 21 in Longview, WA
The 2015 NWAC Baseball Championship field is set.
West #2 seeded Tacoma won the their super regional with a win over SW Oregon 7-1. In the East regional, host Walla Walla advanced with a 4-1 win over Shoreline while a pair of North teams, Douglas and Everett also advanced. Douglas edged Columbia Basin 10-9 and Everett won their regional with a convincing 12-2 win over Pierce.
The super (cross) regional format, in its first year, was developed to help ensure that the top heavy regions could advance more than two teams into the championship tournament. This year the North will have three teams representing their region with Douglas, Everett and regular season division champs Edmonds moving on to the tourney.
The championship tournament will take place at Lower Columbia College starting Thursday, May 21st.
