WENATCHEE — Walla Walla Community College’s baseball team split a Northwest Athletic Conference Eastern Region baseball doubleheader with Wenatchee Valley here Saturday.
The Knights, behind the three-hit pitching of Connor Cardinel, rolled to an 11-0 victory in game one — a contest called after six-and-a-half innings due to the mercy rule.
WWCC rebounded for a 7-1 triumph in the nightcap. Results were not available at press time.
“We didn’t show up ready to play in game one and Wenatchee took it to us,” Walla Walla coach Dave Meliah said. “We competed a lot harder in game two and Carson did a great job of coming out of the bullpen and shutting them down the last six innings.”
The Warriors (16-10 overall, 8-4 in the league) host league foe Yakima Valley Wednesday at 1 p.m.
