WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Community College baseball dropped two games, 7-2 and 10-0, to Columbia Basin in NWAACC action on Saturday.
“It was definitely a disappointing day for us. We didn’t do much right,” WWCC coach Dave Meliah said. “Columbia Basin played well and they deserved to beat us. There is not time to sit around and drop our heads. We still can accomplish all of our goals. We’ll have to regroup and come ready to work on Monday.”
Warriors player Clayton Ayres homered in game one, and came in to pitch in relief in game two — giving up four hits and two runs in two innings of work.
On the day, the Warriors gave up 28 hits and committed two errors while surrending 10 walks.
Columbia Basin’s Kenton Brunson had four hits, including a home run, in the two games combined.
The Warriors are now 23-7 overall and 14-6 in the East Region.
