Men fall twice at Classic

Walla Walla Community College’s Devan Kohn scored 28 points and Roman McKnight added 18, but the men’s basketball team suffered a 96-92 loss to Columbia Basin at the Warrior Classic on Saturday, a day after falling to Mt. Hood, 93-87.

“It was back and forth,” Walla Walla coach Jeff Reinland said after the Columbia Basin game. “We had a chance at the end. That’s just the way it goes.”

“We played better offensively with our shot selection. We wanted to eliminate the big number of threes, and we did that. That was good. We’re getting to the line and attacking the rim, we’re just not very good defensively. That’s our problem. We’re just struggling on the defensive end of the floor.”

The losses dropped the Warriors’ record to 1-3. They will next play Dec. 11 against Shoreline.
