PASCO — Walla Walla Community College’s men’s basketball team chalked up an 88-80 Northwest Athletic Conference Eastern Region victory over Columbia Basin on Saturday.
“It was a very difficult game,” Walla Walla coach Jeff Reinland said. “We were up by four at half (42-38) and as many as 13 a couple of times in the second half. We scrapped. We played well and hard. We played a tough team on their home court and got a win. You’ve got to feel good about that. Dalton Thompson hit some big 3s for us.”
Thompson led the Warriors with 21 points, going 5-8 from 3-point range. Roman McKnight added 16 points and Payton Radliff chipped in with 13 and a team-leading 6 rebounds.
The Warriors (9-13 overall, 3-4 in the league) begin the second round of Eastern Region next Saturday when they host Blue Mountain at 4 p.m.
