EUGENE. Ore. — Emilio Meraz-Rodriguez, a sophomore midfielder from Pasco, scored unassisted at 92 minutes to give Walla Walla Community College a 2-2 tie with Tacoma Community College in men’s soccer Northwest Athletic Conference Friendlies match here Saturday.
The Titans struck first with Spencer Whiting hitting the back of the net at the 10-minute mark off an assist from Connor Desmond.
The Warriors quickly retaliated. Off an assist from Meraz-Rodriguez, Brenden Kenley, sophomore forward from Meridian, Idaho, knotted the score at 1-1 with his tally at the 14-minute mark.
Tacoma once again took the lead at the 21-minute mark with a goal by Kyle Rivers, off an assist from Evan Munn. That set the stage, way, way later, for Meraz-Rodriguez’s late-game heroics.
