Walla Walla Community College’s men’s soccer team took a 2-1 lead into halftime, and doubled their goals in the second half to garner a 4-1 NWAC East Region victory over Treasure Valley on the Warriors’ pitch on Wednesday.
Missael Lopez didn’t waste any time putting WWCC on the scoreboard, taking a ball from Brenden Kenley to put the ball in the net four minutes into the contest.
Lopez scored his second goal at the 25-minute mark off an assist from Shambel West.
The Chukars got their lone goal before halftime when JeanClaude Abide scored 37 minutes in.
In the second half, Dan Mende took a feed from Lopez to score 57 minutes in, and Alex Sotelo rounded out scoring with a goal off West’s assist at 80 minutes.
Warrior goalkeeper Jorge Lierenas had six saves in the match, with Treasure Valley’s Flavio Betancourt making four.
The Warriors (6-4-2 in NWAC East play, 9-4-3 overall) next head to North Idaho at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
