The Walla Walla Community College men’s soccer team combined to take 15 shots, but none found the back of net and only three forced Treasure Valley goalie Flavio Betancourt to make a save.
Meanwhile, freshman Warrior goalie Alex Grimaldo made six saves but Treasure Valley’s Cristian Muniz broke their stalemate on penalty kick shortly after halftime, and the Chukars handed Walla Walla a 1-0 loss in Northwest Athletic Confertence action here on Wednesday.
The Warriors lost their first match against a neighbor in the East Region after winning three of four preseason.
Walla Walla ended up outshooting Treasure Valley, 15-9, however Muniz tallied the only goal when he converted a penalty kick in the 56th minute.
The Warriors will remain home for their next match, as Blue Mountain visits on Saturday. The Timberwolves (0-1 in the East) look to bounce back from a 4-0 loss at Columbia Basin in Pasco on Wednesday.
