Warriors split with Centralia in non-league match-up

CENTRALIA — Walla Walla Community College’s softball team split a pair of Northwest Athletic Conference games with the host Trailblazers here Saturday.

 

The Warriors won the first game, 7-4, and dropped the nightcap, 10-2.

 

WWCC is now 16-12 overall. It currently sits fourth in the Eastern Region standings with a mark of 10-8.

 

Rylee Gentner, Brynnan Carpenter and Ashton Buffo all hit two-run homers in the opener for Walla Walla. Buffo’s homer happened in the second inning, Carpenter went deep in the third, and Gentner cleared the fence in the fourth inning.

 

Gentner had two more hits in the second game and Abbie Miller added a solo home run in the fourth.

 

The Warriors host Treasure Valley Friday at 2 p.m and Blue Mountain Saturday at 12 p.m. in their annual Pink Series for Cancer Awareness.
