Warriors split with league-leading Vikings

MOSES LAKE — Caitlin Crist and Gabby Beckstrom both homered for Walla Walla Community College, and the Warriors rallied for a 6-3 victory over Big Bend in the first game of their NWAC softball doubleheader here on Tuesday.

But the Warriors ended up settling for a split, as Big Bend came back to hand them an 11-2 loss in the second game.

Abby Giles pitched all seven innings of the opener for fourth-place WWCC (21-13 overall, 15-9 in the East), bouncing back from a three-run Big Bend bottom of the first to toss six scoreless.

Giles ended up recording three strikeouts without any walks.

The Warriors next play at Yakima Valley on Friday in another regional twin bill starting at 2 p.m.
