Men's Hoops Starts 2024-2025 2-0
Walla Walla, WA - Coach Reinland and the Men's Basketball Program opened up their 2024-2025 schedule at the Columbia Basin Tip-Off in Pasco, WA this past week with two wins over Linn-Benton and Whatcom.
In their season opener, the Warriors got off to a hot shooting start and never looked back. The Warriors racked up 112 points by the end of the night, with big contributions from Sophomores Austin Ramos, Trey Arland, and Luke Holecek. Austin Ramos kicked off his sophomore campaign with his first double-double of the season on 26 points (11-12) and 14 rebounds. Luke Holecek and Trey Arland both had huge nights with 32 points apiece. Holecek added 5 assists, 4 rebounds and a block to his scoring contributions... while Arland added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block of his own after he played all 40 minutes in his first game action in well over a year. Ramos, Arland, and Holecek combined for 90 of the Warriors' 112 points.
In Friday night's action, we saw Holecek and the Warriors back at it against Whatcom. Friday night belonged to Sophomore F Luke Holecek as he scored a career high 38 points on the way to leading the Warriors to a 96-77 win. Holecek finished the night with his first double-double of the season, adding 10 boards to go with his 38 points and 3 assists. Trey Arland had another strong showing in game two for the Warriors, scoring 18 points (6-8) while grabbing 7 rebounds and adding 2 assists.
The Warriors have their home opener this Friday against Gonzaga Club at 8:00P in the Dietrch Activity Center.
