Hot Start for Men's Basketball Continues
Warriors Go 3-0 in Crossover Tournament, Improve to 8-1
Walla Walla, WA. - The Walla Walla Community College Men's Basketball program has continued their blazing hot start to the 2024-2025 season. Over the weekend, Coach Reinland and the Warriors hosted a four team crossover tournament that included Clackamas Community College, Shoreline Community College, and Highline College.
In Thursday night's game, the Warriors faced off with the Cougars of Clackamas Community College and got out to an early lead and never looked back. The Warriors took an eight point lead into halftime and outscored the Cougars in both halves to win the game 93-82. Trey Arland led the Warriors with 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
In Friday's action, we saw the Warriors absolutely shoot the cover off the ball against Highline College. The Warriors racked up 127 points on a night where they shot 62% from both the field (48-78) and the 3-PT line (18-29) to win 127-107. Trey Arland led the Warriors, again, with 47 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and a block. Arland came up just five points short of tying the Walla Walla Community College Men's Basketball Single Game Scoring record (52). Austin Ramos also had a big night with 25 points and 11 assists.
Saturday saw the Warriors wrapping up the tournament against Shoreline Community College, in what turned out to be the Warriors toughest and closest game of the weekend. The Warriors went into halftime down by seven points, only to come back to outscore the Dolphins 51-38 in the second half to win the game 93-87. Trey Arland led all scorers with 34 points while adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Trayce Atkins added 17 points and 7 assists while Austin Ramos also put together a quietly efficient night for the Warriors, going for 16 points (5-8 FGM-A, 4-5 3PM-A), 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The Warriors are back in action December 28th - December 30th at the Clackamas Holiday Classic in Oregon City, OR.
