Warrior Men's Basketball Ready for Rematch with Spokane
Walla Walla, WA - The Walla Walla Community College Men's Basketball team has their sights set on this evening's matchup at Spokane following a loss on Saturday to Yakima Valley. The first time the Warriors faced the Sasquatch in NWAC East play, WWCC came away with a narrow 93-88 victory on their home floor in the Dietrich Activity Center. Heading into tonight, Walla Walla sits at 10-11 overall and 2-4 in NWAC East play, while Spokane finds themselves 15-6 overall and 3-3 in in-region action.
Saturday's game against Yakima Valley was unfortunately another instance where the Warriors saw a first half advantage slip away in the second half, resulting in a loss. A 54.8% first half shooting effort from the field by WWCC saw them head to the locker room at halftime with a 46-36 lead. However, in the second 20 minutes, it was the Yaks who had the hot hand, scoring 48 second-half points while knocking down nearly 50% of their attempted shots in the period. With 6:30 left in the game, Yakima Valley took the lead and would hang on the rest of the way, handing Walla Walla a 84-79 defeat.
Leading the charge for the Warriors scoring-wise was Braden Sherrill and Hudson Floyd who both finished with 17 points. Sherrill would add 5 rebounds to his effort, and Floyd tallied 5 assists for Walla Walla. Jake Curtis came off the bench to add 16 points and 7 rebounds, finishing second on the team on the glass behind Tanner Goldsmith who collected 9 rebounds.

The Warriors travel to Spokane tonight for a meeting with the Sasquatch, tipoff coming at 5:00 PM.
