Warrior Men Fall in Shootout with Blue Mountain
Walla Walla, WA - On Saturday night, the Walla Walla Community College Men's Basketball team dropped a close contest to the visiting Timberwolves of Blue Mountain Community College, 92-89. The game was a high scoring affair as both teams managed to shoot over 55% from the field in the first half, leading to a halftime score of 52-51 with BMCC holding the advantage. In the second half, the scoring slowed down for both sides, but it was the Timberwolves' ability to knock down the 3-ball that was the difference. Blue Mountain finished 7/12 (58.3%) from deep, while Walla Walla ended the game 8/20 (40%). Along with that, woes at the free throw line for WWCC wouldn't help the cause as the team was only able to convert on 19 of 29 attempts (65.5%).
Walla Walla put together one of their more balanced scoring attacks on the season as five different Warriors finished the game in double figures. Jake Curtis led the way with 16 points off the bench to go with 8 rebounds. The other Warriors with 10+ points in the game were: Braden Sherrill (15), Jackson Floyd (15), Hudson Floyd (11), and Josh Byers (10). Jackson Floyd set the pace in distributing the ball on offense with 3 assists, while Braden Sherrill and Tanner Goldsmith would join Curtis with 8 total rebounds each.
