Women's Basketball Gets Two Wins to Start Season
Walla Walla, WA - Coach Hazeltine and the Walla Walla Community College Women's Basketball program kicked off their 2024-2025 schedule at the Columbia Basin Tip-Off this weekend with two games at Columbia Basin College.
On Thursday afternoon, the Warriors started their season with a win [65-52] against the Red Devils of Lower Columbia. Sophomore guards Jaisha Gibb and Brielle Magnuson led the way for the Warriors in this one... with Jaisha Gibb contributing 18 points (8-12), 5 steals and 4 rebounds while Brielle Magnuson led all scorers with 20 (9-20) points while adding 13 rebounds and 2 steals of her own.
On Friday, Coach Hazeltine and the Warriors were back in action against Peninsula College. This one was much closer as the Warriors earned their second win of the season the hard way, taking the win 57-55. Scoring and other contributions were a little more spread out in the second game as well. Brielle Magnuson led all scorers in the contest with 13 points while the Warriors had two freshman notch their first double digit socring games of their careers. Hadley Fraas scored 12 points (5-9) and added 5 rebounds while Addy Laible scored 10 points (4-5) and grabbed 6 rebounds.
The Warriors are back in action this Friday, November 22nd - in the Dietrich Activity Center at 6:00P, with their first home game of the season against Green River College.
