Women's Basketball secures East Region Championship and #1 Seed at NWAC Tournament
Walla Walla, WA. - Coach Bobbi Hazeltine and the Walla Walla Community College Women's Basketball program secured the 2024-2025 NWAC East Region title on Wednesday against Columbia Basin College as the Warriors hosted the visiting Hawks for the final game of the 2024-2025 East Region schedule.
The Warriors got going quickly on Wednesday evening and never looked back on their way to securing the East Region title and number one seed in the upcoming NWAC tournament. Brielle Magnuson alone matched the visiting Hawks scoring in the first quarter of play with 8 of her 21 points on the night. After the Warriors took a 32-19 lead into halftime, the Hawks came out of half and outscored the Warriors 16-12 in the third but the Warriors answered back in the fourth quarter with a 20-point quarter to finish off the win and regular season.
After finishing a very impressive 14-1 in conference play and 24-5 overall, Coach Hazeltine and the Walla Walla Community College Warriors Women's Basketball program set their sights on the ultimate goal of bringing home another NWAC Championship. The Warriors will open tournament play on Thursday, March 6th, at Columbia Basin College against Centralia College at 6:00PM.
