Warrior Women's Basketball Wins with Authority at Warrior Classic
Walla Walla, WA - Over the weekend, the Walla Walla Community College Women's Basketball team kicked off their 2025-26 home slate in convincing fashion, hosting the Warrior Classic in the Dietrich Dome. The Warriors went 2-0 on the weekend, winning 73-53 over Gonzaga University Club on Friday and 84-42 over Green River College on Saturday. Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday break, WWCC sits at 4-0 on the young season.
Walla Walla 73 vs. Gonzaga Club 53 (Friday, November 21st)
A strong first quarter set the tone for Walla Walla as at the end of the first period of play, they held a 15-6 lead over the Bulldogs. The 9-point advantage would hold at halftime, but WWCC would put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring Gonzaga Club 28-15 on their way to a 20-point victory in the game. The Warriors took advantage of a 40% shooting night from the field, including a 5/15 effort from three-point land. They were also able to dominate in the paint, scoring 24 of their 73 points in close proximity to the bucket. Macie Milum was the high-scorer for WWCC, finishing with 14 points and adding 8 assists. Addy Laible contributed a double double to the team effort with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and off the bench, Sidnee Geerdes was the final Warrior in double figures with 11 points. In total, 11 Warriors registered points in the game as part of a well-rounded attack. For Gonzaga Club, former WWCC Warrior and member of the 2025 NWAC Championship team, Jaisha Gibb, led the Bulldogs offensively with 20 points on 8/17 shooting.
Walla Walla 84 vs. Green River 42 (Saturday, November 22nd)
Start to finish, the Warriors had things rolling and scored at will en route to an 84-42 win over Green River to wrap up the 2025 Warrior Classic. Walla Walla shot an outstanding 48.6% from the field, made 8/19 three-pointers, scored 14 points in transition, 42 points in the paint, and out-rebounded the Gators 54-30 to grab the victory and improve their overall record to 4-0. Not only was their offense dominant, but their defense showed up in a big way as well, holding Green River to just 20.8% from the field and only conceding 8 free throw attempts all night. Hadley Fraas was the leading points-contributor for WWCC, finishing with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Logan Sailors and Marisela Contreras both finished with double digit points (10 each) as again, 11 players in black and gold scored in the game.

The Warriors get a short, mid-season break for the Thanksgiving holiday before picking the action back up on December 5th against Shoreline at the Columbia Basin College Invitational, hosted by CBC in Pasco, WA.
