Warrior Women's Basketball Sweeps at CBC Invitational
Pasco, WA - Over the weekend, the Walla Walla Community College Women's Basketball team traveled back to Columbia Basin College in Pasco for the CBC Invitational. As they have frequently in the young 2025-26 season, they used the opportunity to demonstrate their strength and dominance over non-region opponents, defeating Shoreline on Friday 76-32, and Clark on Saturday 79-51. With the pair of victories, the reigning NWAC Champions improved their undefeated record to 6-0 with one month remaining in non-region competition.
Walla Walla 76 vs. Shoreline 32 (Friday, December 5th)
The Warriors jumped out to a 18-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and didn't look back, outscoring Shoreline in every quarter en route to a 76-32 victory. Despite a 2/15 effort from beyond the 3-point line, Walla Walla shot 47.3% from the field and scored 56 points in the paint to keep the constant pressure on their opponents. As a team, they also scored 20 points off of turnovers, 22 points on fastbreaks, accumulated 23 assists, and out-rebounded the Dolphins 54-23. A balanced offensive attack, which has been a theme for WWCC, contributed to the success in the matchup as 11 players appeared on the scoresheet, with 3 players finishing in double-digits: Logan Sailors (19), Macie Milum (14), and Averee Osterhout (10). Milum led the charge in facilitating others as well, tallying 5 assists with Hadley Fraas adding 4 assists herself. Logan Sailors was the lone Warrior to knock down a shot from deep, finishing 2/2 from 3-point territory.
Walla Walla 79 vs. Clark 51 (Saturday, December 6th)
Another strong first quarter for the Warriors set the tone for the rest of the game as Walla Walla outscored Clark 27-12 in the early moments of their matchup. The middle quarters were much more closely contested, with Clark actually outscoring WWCC in the third quarter. However, the Warriors left no doubt with a dominating fourth quarter to wrap this one up and maintain their undefeated record. Walla Walla shot nearly 50% from the field and made 6 3-Pointers as a team, while holding Clark to just 27% shooting on the day. Macie Milum set the pace scoring-wise for Walla Walla, totalling 18 points on 8/13 shooting. She also added 4 rebounds and 5 assists to complete her all-around performance. Logan Sailors (17 points) and Addy Laible (10 points) were the other Warriors in double figures. Sailors was 3/8 from behind the 3-Point line and also added 10 rebounds to finish with the double-double. Laible would also make her presence felt under the hoop, collecting 7 rebounds and 1 block, the lone block on the weekend for WWCC.
What's next?
The Warriors return home this weekend to host the NWAC Crossover that will also involve Shoreline, Lane, and the WWCC Alumni team. They will have one of their tougher tests on the season so far to open things up on Friday, facing off with 6-0 Lane Community College at 7 PM. They have a rematch with Shoreline set for 4 PM on Saturday, and will face the WWCC Alumni at 2 PM on Sunday.
