Fast Start by Warrior Women's Basketball Team Ends in Rout of Blue Mountain
Pendleton, OR - A completely dominant defensive effort and offensive contribution from 10 different Warriors resulted in a blowout win for Walla Walla on Saturday over Blue Mountain 80-29. With the victory, WWCC (15-2 overall, 2-0 NWAC East) completed an undefeated first week of NWAC East play as they attempt to defend their 2025 NWAC Women's Basketball Championship.
Walla Walla took the lead from the start and never saw the score get back to square en route to a 51 point win where their lead was as large as 54. The Blue Mountain offense had no answer for the incredible defense played by the Warriors as WWCC was able to hold BMCC to just 18.2% shooting from the field in the game and only 8 total first half points. The Walla Walla defense forced 20 Timberwolves turnovers that led to 22 points, and they also out-rebounded Blue Mountain 51-28. On the scoring end, as a team the Warriors finished 30/71 (42.3%) from the field, including 6/21 (28.6%) from 3-point range, and collected 21 2nd chance points in the contest.
Logan Sailors led the way for Walla Walla scoring 18 points on an efficient 5/9 shooting night from the field. She was also able to convert 6/9 free throws that she attempted. Three other Warriors were in double figures: Addy Laible (14), Hadley Fraas (11), and Allie McKenna (10). Dakota Wadsworth also provided an offensive spark for WWCC, scoring a career-high 9 points off the bench where she knocked down 3 3-point attempts.
