Career Night for Addy Laible Helps Lead Warriors to Victory Over Big Bend
Walla Walla, WA - Saturday night was a night to remember for the 2025-26 Walla Walla Community College Women's Basketball squad. Not only was it Sophomore Night and the final home game of the season, but it was also a night where the Warriors were able to knock off Big Bend, the team who coming in was sitting at the very top of the NWAC East standings. With the win, WWCC now sees themselves in a tie for that top spot with the Vikings with both teams headed into their final game of the regular season on Wednesday.
Big Bend was able to jump out to the early advantage in the game, but monster periods in the second and third quarters helped the Warriors cruise to an 82-62 victory. In the middle quarters of the game, WWCC outscored the Viks 50-23. As a group, the Warriors would finish the night shooting 50.7% from the field and 38.5% from 3-point land, while also outrebounding Big Bend 42-26, out-assisting them 18-7, and scoring 11 points off of 7 Big Bend turnovers.
Addy Laible had one of, if not her best, night in black and gold, leading Walla Walla with a career-high 26 points. She finished the contest 11/13 from the field, 4/5 from the free throw line, and added 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks to her stat line. Three other Warriors were in double figures in the game: Sidnee Geerdes (14), Allie McKenna (11), and Logan Sailors (10). Geerdes and McKenna tied for the Warrior lead in rebounds with 11 each, resulting in double-doubles for both players.
What's next?
The Warriors head to Columbia Basin College on Wednesday for their final game of the 2025-26 regular season. If they are able to defeat the Hawks, Walla Walla will claim the NWAC East Regular Season Championship! Tipoff is slated for 7:00 PM in Pasco, WA.
