Women's Soccer Wraps Up Successful Season
Walla Walla, WA - The Walla Walla Community College Women's Soccer program has officially wrapped up it's 2024 campaign with a final record of 11-3-5. Coach Hacker and the Warriors put together a phenomenal season that came up just short after suffering a 2-1 loss in the NWAC Regional. Although the season did not result in the Warriors lifting up the championship trophy, there were a number of accomplishments acheived by this group of young women.
Walla Walla kept up the tradition of great defense and clean sheets in NWAC play here in 2024... Anchored by the 2024 NWAC Defensive MVP in Goalkeeper, Viv Ochoa, the Warriors only allowed 8 total goals for the entire season. The Warriors' defense also featured multiple NWAC All-Star defenders in freshmen Bailey Bloxham and Natalia Yanetsko.
The Warriors' defense was not the only side that featured All-Star level play this season. Sophomore Central Midfielder Lexi Bott earned another All-Star nod after she started in all 19 matches for the Warriors while racking up six goals and two assists. Sophomore Forward Kenna Berry and Freshman Central Midfielder Morgan Santos also earned Second-Team East Region honors.
A huge impact on both sides of the field was made by Sophomore Center Midfielder Emoree Lash. After missing the entire preseason due to injury, Emoree scored one goal, added four assists, and was an integral part of the Warriors' defense this season. Emoree earned herself an All-Star selection and was named the 2024 East Region Co-MVP.
