Warriors Women's Soccer Handed First Loss in NWAC East Opener
Walla Walla, WA - Saturday afternoon on the campus of Walla Walla Community College, the Columbia Basin Hawks proved to be a formidable opponent for the Warriors as they came away with a 3-0 win in the opener of in-region play. The Hawks jumped out to a quick start with their first goal coming in the 5th minute of action, before extending their halftime lead with additional goals in the 27th and 38th minutes. By halftime, the Hawks had registered ten total shots, five of them on goal with keeper Kenzie Christian able to make a couple of saves.
Following the midway break, Walla Walla came out with renewed energy and was able to take some of the momentum back from the Hawks, but ultimately couldn't get a goal to show for it and the match would end in a 3-0 victory for Columbia Basin. Karen Villegas would end up being the Warriors' biggest offensive threat with three total shots, Soleil Hoefer also added two shots to the Walla Walla attack.

The Warriors hit the road on Wednesday for a midweek matchup against Yakima Valley Community College in Yakima, WA. Kickoff of the NWAC East tilt is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
