Warrior Volleyball Takes Care of Business in Straight Sets Against Wenatchee Valley
Walla Walla, WA - It only took three sets for the Warrior Women's Volleyball team to claim the victory on Friday night over visiting Wenatchee Valley. Walla Walla, now 10-7 overall and 3-2 in the NWAC East, sits comfortably in the 4th place spot in region standings. With two big matches coming up this week, the volleyball action is heating up and the Warriors have their eyes set on concluding the first half of East region play strong!
The straight sets victory is no stranger to the Warriors as so far this year, all ten of their victories have come in that fashion. The first and second sets were close with scores of 25-19 and 25-20 respectively, but WWCC left no doubt that they were going to get the job done with a massive 25-4 victory in set three to take the match.
Much like the straight sets victory, the familiar duo of Aubree Zimmer and Natalie Evers showed up in force in the match against Wenatchee Valley as the pair combined for 21 of the team's 36 kills. Hailey Buehner also contributed greatly to the Warriors' attack, finishing with 8 kills on the night. Buehner would also have an impact with the serve, leading the Warriors in service aces with 4. Defensively, Kennedy Coleman led WWCC in digs with 15, followed closely by Rachel Buehner with 14.
What's next?
The Warriors will hit the road Wednesday night to Moses Lake to take on Big Bend before returning home Friday night to host Spokane at the Dietrich Dome. Both of those matches are scheduled to get going at 6:00 PM.
