North Idaho takes league match from Warriors

COEUR d’ALENE — Walla Walla Community College’s volleyball team lost in four sets against North Idaho, 25-14, 25-17, 21-25 and 25-23, in a non-league match here on Tuesday.

“We just didn’t show up to compete with confidence,” Warriors coach Chelsie Speer said. “We made the necessary adjustments in the third set, and then had a chance in the fourth with a four-point lead at one point, but just couldn’t close out the game.”

The Warriors’ record fell to 14-3 overall and 1-1 in the East Region.

Morgan Ness had 12 kills and three blocks for WWCC, Ocean Bryan had 11 kills and three blocks, Abbey Schwager had 31 assists and 10 digs, Kacey Halbert and Tia Takasaki each made 16 digs.

The Warriors return to action Friday when they host the Walla Walla Crossover starting with a match against Shoreline at 9 a.m., followed by Lane at noon and then Highline at 4:30 p.m.
