Walla Walla Community College volleyball players Ashlin Orosco and Hannah Pond recently inked letters to play and study at four-year schools next year.
Orosco is headed to La Sierra University in Riverside, Calif., where she will be studying history.
“Ashlin had a great sophomore season after coming back from a season-ending ACL injury her freshmen year,” Warriors coach Chelsie Speer said. “She’s a smaller hitter, but very explosive and competitive. She changed the momentum of our season when we moved her to the rightside.”
Pond stays a little closer, as she’s study hospitality management at Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston.
“Hannah had a great year as our starting libero,” Speer said. “She was named NWAC defensive player of the week during week two, and she was also named first-team all-region in the East. She is solid in all aspects of the game: defense, serve receive passing and serving.
“We have big shoes to fill losing these two, but we are excited to see them continue their education and playing careers at the next level,” she said.
