GRESHAM, Ore. — Walla Walla Community College’s traveling volleyball team won both matches on its road trip to South Region schools Thursday.
Starting at Clark College in Vancouver, Wash., the Warriors overcame an early setback to knock off the host Penguins in four sets, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-13.
Morgan Ness tallied 13 kills for Walla Walla, teammate Tylar Jones had 13 kills, and Leigha Peebles put up 10 kills and four blocks.
Abbey Schwager had 32 assists and 14 digs, Kacey Halbert hustled for 24 digs, and Tia Takasaki had 17 digs.
The Warriors then went here to Mt. Hood, where they swept the Saints (25-19, 25-16 and 25-10).
Ness had another 11 kills and four blocks, Schwager dished 21 assists, and Kacey Halbert made 13 digs.
The Warriors (9-1 record) will rest before hitting the road again for their next outing, Wednesday at Treasure Valley in Ontario, Ore., at 5 p.m.
