Warriors pick up three-set volleyball victory over Blue Mountain

PENDLETON — Walla Walla Community College picked up its third straight match victory with a sweep of Blue Mountain in Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball action here on Wednesday.

The Warriors (29-15 overall, 10-4 in the East) made short work of Blue Mountain in straight sets with 25-18, 25-23 and 25-14 decisions.

“It was great to get our final regular season win on the road,” Warriors coach Chelsie Speer said.

Already having clinched a spot in the conference championship tournament, which will start in two weeks at Tacoma, the third-place Warriors get to stay home for the rest of the regular season. They will host Yakima Valley on Friday, and Treasure Valley next Wednesday.

“We have two home matches left before NWACs,” Speer said. “This Friday, we are honoring sophomores.”

At Blue Mountain, Ocean Bryan scored 13 kills for the Warriors while teammate Lindsey Carpenter had 10 kills, six assist blocks and 11 digs.

Kynady Greear gave Walla Walla another seven assist blocks, Hannah Pond had 15 digs, and

Abbey Schwager as good for 20 assists.
