EVERETT — Walla Walla Community College’s volleyball team won pool play at the Everett Tournament here on Saturday, and then ran through two matches of bracket play on Sunday before falling to Bellevue.
The Warriors opened tourney play on Saturday with a 25-16, 25-12 win over Grays Harbor, before defeating Everett, 25-16, 25-20. They concluded pool play with a 25-19, 13-25, 15-12 win over Pierce.
On Sunday, WWCC defeated Shoreline, 25-18, 25-19, 25-16, and the University of Fraser Valley, 16-25, 25-18, 29-17, 21-25, 15-11 in a hard-fought match.
Bellevue then handed the Warriors an 18-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-16 loss.
Ocean Bryan led WWCC with 43 kills at the tournament, with Lindsey Carpenter picking up 41 kills, nine blocks and 63 digs.
Ashlin Orosco had 34 kills and 66 digs, Kyndady Greear blocked 18 shots, Abbey Schwager carded 137 assists, 11 aces and 42 digs, and Hannah Ponded ended up with 139 digs.
The Warriors host Spokane at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
