Warriors sweep Big Bend

Walla Walla Community College took care of business here Friday night in NWAC East Region volleyball action. The Warriors downed Big Bend in three straight, never allowing the Vikings to break 15 points in any set.

 

The Warriors posted 25-11, 25-11, and 25-15 straight set wins.

 

Morgan Ness led the Warrior hitters with 13 kills. Abbey Schwager directed the offensive hitting with 25 assists. Emmah Peterson made a contribution at the net with nine kills and six blocks. On the return side for the Warriors, Lindsey Lindgren led the way with 12 digs. Kacey Halbert and Schwager each posted 10 digs to help the Warriors to the win.

 

“Another good win for us,”Warrior coach Chelsie Speer said. “We defended our home court.”

 

The 3-0 win kept pace with East Division Leader Spokane, who swept Treasure Valley 3-0 on Saturday.

 

The Warriors improve to 4-1 in the East, tied for second with North Idaho and one game back of 5-0 Spokane.

 

The Warriors travel to 0-5 CBC Wednesday.
