Warriors sweep volleyball tilt with Big Bend

Lindsey Carpenter scored a match-high 14 kills for Walla Walla Community College, which swept Big Bend in a Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match here on Wednesday.

The Warriors (27-15 overall, 8-4 in the East) finished the night still tied for third-place with Spokane, which defeated Wenatchee Valley in four sets.

Both will next play on Friday, with Walla Walla hosting first-place North Idaho (11-0 in the East) while Spokane visits cellar-dwelling Big Bend.

Walla Walla made short work of Big Bend here, finishing off the Vikings with 25-10, 25-15 and 25-19 scores.

While Carpenter led everybody in kills, teammate Emma Peterson added nine along with three blocks.

The Warriors also had Abbey Schwager dishing 26 assists and Lindsey Lindgren making 16, while Hannah Pond hustled after 14 digs.
