WWCC loses volleyball match in straight sets at North Idaho

COUER D’ALENE — Walla Walla Community College dropped a 3-0 decision to North Idaho here Friday in NWAC East Region volleyball action.

The Warriors hung in every set, but the undefeated, 5-0, in East play Cardinals found a way to pull out all three sets.

The Cardinals behind 15 kills took set 1, 25-23. The Cardinals pounded away with another 15 kills to grab a 2-0 lead with a 25-22 win in set two.

North Idaho closed out the match with another close win, 25-22, in set three.

Lindsey Carpenter led the Warrior hitters with eight kills on the night.

Ocean Bryan and Cheyan James chipped in six kills each for the Warrior attack. The Cardinals’ Kayla Neumann led all hitters with 12 kills.

The Warriors’ Hannah Pond led all defenders. Pond dug up a match high 16 digs.

The Warriors drop to 2-3 in the East and host Blue Mountain at the Dietrich Dome Wednesday at 6.
