TUKWILA, Wash. — Walla Walla Community College’s Jaz Lemos highlighted the Warriors’ second day of the NWAC friendlies here on Friday, with WWCC taking a 4-0 win over Green River.
The Warriors scored their first goal three minutes in and never looked back.
WWCC freshmen Jenn Inions and Maddi Brownell, and sophomores Lemos and Jessica Garcia scored goals, with every healthy Warrior contributing to the victory, Warrior coach Jordan Hacker said.
Lemos came in off the bench and had a goal and an assist.
“They showed great poise and patience with an undermanned Green River squad,” Hacker said. “Trying to break down nine to 10 defenders to score was a difficult task for the Warriors, but they were very persistent. All day.”
Tate Kautzky, Garcia, Lemos and Sophia Garrison all had an assist, and freshman goalkeeper Dani Dowd was not called on to make a save in the shutout win.
