Warrior women dominate Columbia Basin in 4-0 win

Walla Walla Community College found the back of the net twice in each half here Saturday in NWAC East Region women’s soccer action. The Warriors blanked Columbia Basin 4-0.

Thirteen minutes in, Dominique Velazquez finished an assist from Jaz Lemos for a 1-0 Warrior lead. Eight minutes later, Haley Wammock got loose and booted home a goal that sent the Warriors to intermission up 2-0.

Chelsea Marozik was fouled in the box in the 65th minute.

Marozik put the penalty kick away and the Warriors’ lead stretched to 3-0.

Hannah Thompson took an assist from Madison Brownell with sixminutes left and put home the Warriors fourth goal of the night.

The Warrior defense was all over the Hawks, limiting them to only one shot which Warrior keeper Paige Kubista saved.

The Warriors blasted 20 shots, with 10 of those on goal for the match.

The Warriors remain perfect in East play as they improve to 7-0-0. The Warriors host Wenatchee Valley Wednesday at 2.
