TACOMA — Walla Walla Community College completed its second shutout of the two day road trip here Friday against Pierce College. The Warriors blanked Centralia 4-0 Thursday, and moved on to Pierce Friday and managed two second-half goals to post a 2-0 win.
The Warriors and Pierce battled to a 0-0 draw in the first half.
“We were unable to capitalize on several opportunities,” Warriors coach Jordan Hacker said of the 0-0 half. “We struggled with the shape Pierce was in. There were several moments when Pierce had all 11 players inside its own half and deeper.”
Taylen Wolf took over for the Warriors in the second half. Wolf found the back of the net twice to give the Warriors the 2-0 win.
“Pierce pressed to find a goal for 10 minutes,” Hacker added. “We were able to handle the pressure and get out of town with a 2-0 win.”
The Warriors improve to 3-1 on the non-league season and will open East Region action when Yakima Valley visits for a 2 p.m. kick off Wednesday.
