WWCC women balanced group this season
The Walla Walla Community College women’s soccer team is reloading after tying North Idaho for second in the NWAC East Region last year with 8-3-3 league records.
Walla Walla was 12-5-3 overall.
The Warriors defeated Lane in the regional playoffs, 2-1, in Eugene, before losing to Highline, 3-1, in the NWAC quarterfinals at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.
This season, 11 sophomores are joined by 12 freshmen on the WWCC roster.
Among those newcomers is Walla Walla High grad Lorena Ramirez, who is slated at forward for the Warriors.
Walla Walla hosted a three-team afternoon of scrimmages on Tuesday, with Clark and the College of Idaho on the Warriors’ Tausick Way pitch.
The Warriors jump into friendly matches at the NWAC Friendlies at the Starfire complex in Tukwila on Thursday and Friday.
They play Portland at 8 p.m. on Thursday, and then Edmonds at 4 p.m. on Friday.
