WWCC women win at Treasure Valley, 2-0

ONTARIO, Ore. — Walla Walla Community College remained perfect in NWAC East Region women’s soccer action here Saturday.

The Warriors scored a goal in each half to down Treasure Valley 2-0.

It could’ve, should’ve been worse. The Warriors blasted 24 shots and held the Chukars to one shot. Lupita Villavicencio, in net for the Chukars, kept the match from getting out of hand as she picked up nine saves,

Domingue Velazquez got the Warriors going with an unassisted goal at the 17 minute of the first half. The Warriors could not add to that for the rest of the first half.

Sally Culig got the Warriors second-half goal at the 57 minute mark, again unassisted.

In all, eight Warriors had shots on goal. Velazquez, Tate Kautzky, Jaz Lemos, and Madison Hemenway, led the way with each blasting two shots on goal.

The Warriors improve to 11-0 and sit atop the East Region. The Warriors travel to Spokane for a 5 p.m. match Wednesday.
